Lions English School is situated on Sanjibhai Delkar Marg, in Silvassa, the capital of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi. It is being managed by Lions Club of Silvassa Charitable Trust, a non – profitable voluntary organization.
Shri Houzul Houkham, the then Collector of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, dedicated the school to the aspiring students. The school which was the result of the sincere efforts of Shri K. D. Singh, the then D.C.F. and Shri R. P. Shah and others, was started in 1983 in a rented building with about 15 students studying from Std. I to IV. Today the School has bloomed into a flourishing institution owning a vast premise of 17 acres of land, imparting the education to about 5000 students studying from Nursery to Std. XII. Std. XI and XII are conducted for Science and Commerce streams.
The school is thus marching ahead adding feathers to its cap year after year. From its beginning days till now, the school has always had its aim to make its own contribution towards the enhancement of the students in all aspects irrespective of caste, colour, creed, religion and language.
Ours is a private institution entirely dependent for our funding on school fees. Admissions are open to children of all communities. The school, which began with a few students from several communities, now boasts of a student body exceeding 5000. Lions English School prepares its students for the CBSE Examinations, and is very proud of its cent percent results.
